Next-generation NIRD RDA - production launch from 2025-06-02 08:00 CEST to 2025-06-06 12:00 CEST

This maintenance has been concluded as planned.

The next-generation NIRD Research Data Archive is now available in the production environment - archive.sigma2.no.

Please be informed that the datasets from the old archive, located at old.archive.sigma2.no, will be gradually migrated over. As the datasets are migrated, they will be displayed in the new archive. The migration process is anticipated to take approximately two weeks.

This maintenance is now starting as planned.

We are delighted to inform you that we are planning to release our next-generation NIRD Research Data Archive (NIRD RDA) on Monday 2 June. This will serve as Norway’s most comprehensive repository for scientific data, positioning Norway as a leader in open research and data sharing. It will support all data sets, regardless of their size or scientific domain.

The NIRD RDA is designed to support growth, enhance interaction, and improve the performance of Norwegian researchers. You will have the opportunity to explore the new archive and its functionalities and access new features that have been designed to enhance the user experience.

Please be informed that:

• The migration process will start on Monday 2 June and shall be finished by Tuesday 3 June,
• Futhermore, depositing into the old NIRD RDA is temporarily closed until the full launch of the next-generation NIRD RDA. If you have ongoing depositing processes, please contact us.
• All existing data and metadata will be migrated from the old archive to the new archive.
• The old archive will be relocated to the old.archive.sigma2.no address and maintained in a read-only manner for a short period of time.
• The new archive will be available at the current address, that is, at archive.sigma2.no.
